Bureau Bouwkunde Nederland, together with StudioDAT and other Rotterdam consultants, has been selected for an internal renovation of the Rotterdam Central Library. The StudioDAT design contains a vibrant entrance square, which is created between the two multifunctional cupboard walls. The new furnishing concept respects the existing structures, restores internal cohesion, facilitates the arrival of new partners and ensures a better connection with the dynamics in the immediate vicinity.
The team of Bureau Bouwkunde Nederland, in collaboration with StudioDAT, provided architectural advice, including cost management and fire safety advice. We then wrote the technical specifications (stabu) and supported the client with price and contract formation.
The Central Library is constantly in motion and the design of StudioDAT optimally facilitates this dynamic organization. The cabinet walls are made up of modules and offer the possibility to make each element suitable for a variety of uses during use.
