As part of their sustainability strategy, Portisa Nederland asked Bureau Bouwkunde to conduct a study on the environmental aspects of their prefab bathrooms.
Bureau Bouwkunde carried out a sustainability analysis through a concise environmental performance assessment and a MKI (Milieu Kosten Indicator) analysis. This allowed us to roughly quantify the environmental impact of the “prefabricated sanitary cabin” product, considering the materials used and the different life cycle stages: from raw material extraction to demolition and waste processing. The analysis highlighted areas with the maximum potential for improvement in terms of environmental aspects. Additionally, Bureau Bouwkunde provided recommendations on potential sustainable materials to be used.
