Reconstruction of the Martinushof building for Zozijn Foundation

Bureau Bouwkunde’s contribution:

• fire safety engineering
• consultation with municipality and safety region
• DO-cost estimation
• health and safety plan during the design phase
• writing the specifications for the tender

Stichting ZoZijn operates multiple buildings on the De Lathmer estate in Wilp as a care institution for people with multiple disabilities. The building ‘Martinushof’, which housed the organization’s HR department, was destroyed by an unknown cause in January 2017 (see image, source: ZoZijn). For the reconstruction, ZoZijn approached Contexture Architects to create a new design.

Bureau Bouwkunde was commissioned by Contexture to handle the engineering of fire safety, liaise with the municipality and the Safety Region, provide a detailed cost estimation for the design phase, and write a Specification for the tender.

The new building was completed by Van Norel Bouwgroep in 2018.
