The total transformation, expansion and sustainability of the Sanders building (former L building) required an integral design process with 2 architects, one for the high-rise and one for the low-rise. The Sandersgebouw was eventually converted into a transparent, efficient and sustainable building.
The project consists of a low-rise section containing the lecture halls, study places (teaching function), moot court, library and food court. A transparent collar has been added to the lecture halls, expanding the hall and creating space for additional study places.
Bureau Bouwkunde Nederland has supported the client with design and project management, cost management, technical specifications (stabu), coordination and integration of constructions and installations.
